The monkey's name is never mentioned in the books but in the BBC radio play he is named Ozymandeus. It has a meaning but wikipedia isn't working at the moment so I'll get back to you on that.

I like the golden monky ver much. It's exactly how I imagined him. Coulter on the other hand is not really how I thought she would be, but very close.

mmm, that too. It is in a poem, as i mentioned before. I haven't actually read the poem, just bits and pieces. Actually, there is a character in John Christopher's THE WHITE MOUNTAINS. he is sort of insane, and calls himself Ozymandias, and quotes a poem. I aplogize if that's a little too much off topic.PP mentioned that he disapproved of giving the monkey a name, and that it was more menacing without a name.
