Wow...
Not exactly how I imagined her clothing, but you did. Her pose is wonderful and so is her face. Looks like she's observing something...
The goose looks so real and his pose is also great! The whole painting just gives such a wild spirit feeling, which,I think,is just the feeling you need to have when you're talking 'bout the Witches. Magnificent,I'd love to see more of your work!

This is just....amazing. The power she posseses in her mighty pose is staggering, and there is a real wild fire in her eyes-you can definatly recognise her status as a Witch Queen. i like how you didn't draw her beautiful in the way described in the book- she looks more tough here, more weathered, rough and real. The only thing a little off is her body proportions, her clothes look a bit like tape and her feet are a tad too small, but your style and the magic in this picture.....simply brilliant. The delicacy of the painting is beautiful- Kaisa is stunning and i love the faint background and touch of magic on the cloud pine. Overall the absolute professionalism of the painting is amazing, and you seem to have truly captured Serafina's untameable nature in this outstanding piece of art. i would love to c more of your work!!!

awesome!!

Thanx all!
Lizzietiffon01 thanx especially for such a detailed critique. I hope she's at least a LITTLE beautiful, as well as hard, I was quite pleased with the likeness of Eva Green!
Witches clothing is described at least once in the books as strips, or ribbons of silk, so that's what I was going for, admittedly it looks a bit like PVC tho.

Wow this is really good!! I really like it though Serafina looks a kinda like she i dont know dark or something i cant think of the word but i like the picture a lot .

she looks kind of native american like, especially her stance and the scene behind her. dont worry, it's a compliment. what media did u use?

Dukeleto: on 04/19/2007

Thanx, Photoshop CS2 all the way, with a Wacom graphics tablet. I think a tribal, Inuit sort of look was what I was going for. Her knife is definitely based on a Sami one, anyway. It belongs to my friend.

it is really really cool

I love Kaisa! You did him in really good detail. Her bow is beautiful! Her clothes kind of look like rubber though. But her intense expression is beautiful!

I loooove it ... I only wish her hair was blonde insted of black .. Otherwise this is as perfect as it could be. She looks very strong.. A little bit like an amazon warrior.. If there is anything to point out in this pic is that her feet a little small, bur thats just such a little thing ... This is so amazing... Im just stunned! Very very good job !

Wowzers. Great pose for her--she looks very commanding but you still managed to convey the femininity inherent in the witches. Really great colors too.

Dukeleto: on 09/10/2007

Thankyou Elise!
Serafina is a complex character, I wanted to capture that, and I'm glad it worked out so well!

Halinka: on 12/05/2007

Love everything, but her clothing is not exactly how I imagined it. Anyway, I must say your cloud pine is just perfect!!! As Kaisa

Tim: on 01/29/2008

Brilliant.....you have given her life!!!...xx

She gorgeous as well as looking strong willed and even dangerous. I love the clothing, too. And the picture as a whole--great detail, style, expression. =D
