Well he deserved to die,i hate all those priests, they like serve the god,and then there out in a mission to kill someone 8) .Mrs. Coulter is my favorite, she is not that much of a villain, she is best coz she wants more power.

Why is Lord Asriel not among the choices?

He worked for the good side,he wanted to destroy Authority and Magisterium with it,they were the ones causing trouble in the worlds.

So, the ends justifies the means? He also cold-heartedly killed Lyra's friend to advance his agenda.

As much as I like Lord Asriel, I agree he should definately be high up on the list of baddies

'Only' killing a child is a pretty big only. But I've noticed a few more things:

Asriel had an affair with a married women and let strangers bring up the resulting child.
He was willing to kill his own daughter if Roger hadn't been around.
He lies ALOT - eg. to Mrs. Coulter saying he was going to destroy dust, that he had found Grumman's head etc.
He creates MASSIVE ecological damageto the environments of ALL worlds.

as for this,i personally think that Mrs. Coulter seduced him,all that she ever wanted is power, and Asriel was quite powerfull back then.

He was willing to kill his own daughter if Roger hadn't been around.

No,he wouldnt, that`s why he was so much suprised when he saw her,he wanted a child and he thought they brought him his own daughter.

He lies ALOT - eg. to Mrs. Coulter saying he was going to destroy dust, that he had found Grumman's head etc.

First,he lied to her just to make her come with him,i think that he still loved her.Second, about Grummans head(that wasnt so bad)he had to lie so they would give him money, who doesnt want some extra money, especally when you attend to open a way to another world

He creates MASSIVE ecological damageto the environments of ALL worlds.

He did this for the good of ALL of them, too(To every action there is always opposed an equal reaction)If he didnt do that,Church would command of all people.

Dont think i like that much Lord Asriel, but these are the real facts 8)

Hmmm...contradiction there right away - you argue against my text based observations with your own personal, unfounded opinion and call that the facts!? :S

Coulter is counted as a villian - what she was doing for the church she thought was for the greater good just as Asriel thought what he was doing was for the greater good - this makes both or none of them villians surely?

I think the ecological damage was more of an accident, a previously unknown side effect

but what's the point in saving people from tyranic rule if he destroyed the very world's they lived in??

I dont think she thought that, she wasnt concerned about good and evil.

He didnt destroy world`s,dont know what you mean, all that he did about that was just some changes in HIS world, and he created a bigger hole for a dust to leak

Iorek and the armoured bears had to move south because of the rapid global warming and environmental changes that came about when Asriel made the window.
The witches talk about nature getting all screwed up because of Asriels's window in the north.
I think it also impacted the Mulefa's world as regards the Dust leaking away - the abnormal Dust flow was already threatening their world but windows like Asriel's are what caused this.

I said that, but Dust didnt flow out only because Asriels, but more because of the knife,
