At one point mine were all quite matched, except that my TAS is hardcover and the other two are soft. But I lost my TGC in a move (or two simultaneous moves, actually... long story...)

Then I found an NL at a library at the resort I stayed in at Thailand, and traded it for another book I had with me, but didn't need to read again.

So now I've got Image, Image, and Image

I suppose the publishers meant that kid to be Lyra on that NL, but really, it is a very pointless and unrelated picture, I think.

My favourites covers are the black and white ones that everybody likes, and also these ones...

I've seen them in shops, and they have an abstract pattern on the spines that makes the words "His Dark Materials" when you line the books up in order, which really tickles my fancy.

I’m currently grappling with whether to buy the black and white ones or not. I have Northern Lights so it would be good to have a set and I want the lantern slides.

Some of the cover art is so funny though, especially the Czech editions. I mean would you read a book with these covers?

One of them has a dragon and a knight on it for no discernable reason. It’s great.

Haha the Czech ones really are mad aren't they!? Fantasy illustrators obviously assume there MUST be a dragon on the cover.
The Golden Monkey daemon is even shown as an orungutan - which, as any Discworld fans will be aware, are APES and not monkeys.

I love those hardback German covers - might have to get some myself, have been looking for an excuse to learn German!

Actually upon closer inspection I think the cover artist may have gotten Mrs Coulter confused with Mary Poppins.

The French editions with the photos of the torre degli angeli and the amber spyglass are my favourite.

Has anybody an Idea where I can get the part of pictures under the animal head, the title of the book and the authors name and without the sticker so that I can print it and take it as a poster on the wall?

ooo i like the second set, l-dericher ^^ my complete set are french with the purple overhead title, and i have the last set of american paperbacks minus the golden compass. i had the first one of that but lent it to someone, and lent the black and white northern lights to someone, and neither of them were returned. i feel like the library saying "that's my most-lost book" :D
