No, I shan't paint them on myself, I thought I'd paint them on the dial of the Alethiometer, but if I do paint them on me i'll be sure to lacquer myself afterwards.

I'm hoping to either make a "better" application strip/sticker of the symbols, or perhaps disguise the existing join. I have also (referring to your earlier post here) considering trying to replace all the internal (plastic) cogs with an improved mechanism but it's a bit out of my comfort zone to say the least - if you ever enlist your hubs to such a project let me know!

Heh heh. Now that you mention it, I could use a little spackling myself.....

What kind of innerds does it have? Does it move based on a magnetic pull or a mechanical device?

They prolly won't come out with one until they make the movie of it. And even then, the Nobel guys mite not bother if the alethiometer replica don't sell well, I noticed they didn't continue with the Dark Knight series when it didn't go over big. Harry Potter is still their big seller.

I thought of that too,but how do they expect to sell that alethiometer when it`s so freagin` expensive,i would rather make one than buy,it`s not even the same as it is in the movie.

Man, all that Nobel stuff is so expensive, but it is so pretty, too. I have a subscription to the magazine, tho I have never gotten anything but a Hogwarts pen set.

Honestly, I wasn't really that impressed with the pens, only two houses and they just didn't write well. Spotty ink.
But I did see the Templar ring they sell, now THAT was nice.....

Nice, people are finding my video useful! I see I've managed to contribute to discussion here at the forum weeks before I even registered. :P

I'm satisfied enough with my Alethiometer despite the critical review, and I found an old cologne box that's perfect for displaying and storing it with. :D
