I really enjoyed it, though yes it was short - it was only about 45 minutes long. It's done with a full cast, just like all the other audio books. The only thing I found disconcerting was a vague reference to the other stuff the book came with at the beginning of the audiobook since I didn't have access to anything that would have normally come with it. It made me go huh? for a second or two, but then it started in on the story of Lyra and the Birds. I suppose a good comparison I could make would be if there were a regular weekly audio/radio series based on His Dark Materials, this audiobook would be one episode of it. If I remember right, it had the same actress playing Lyra in this one as in the other books so the transition was an easy one too.

Thank you angel for posting that list! I think I will pick up a copy soon. I didn't realize it had so much extra stuff with it. :D
