Hey, My first post here, hello etc

I dunno if this has already been posted on here, but I just heard The Ruby in the Smoke, another amazing book by Pullman is to be televised, with Billie Piper (from Dr.Who) playing the female protagonist Sally Lockheart

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/entertainment/4595618.stm

This should be pretty interesting.

I think mostly everyone here knows.

Maybe it'd be fun to introduce yourself in the Newbie forum?
Anyhow, welcome!

Billie Piper *cries*

Pleasepleasepleasepleaseplease don't make her stupid. I don't think I'd be able to bear it.

Isn't Billie Piper a little bit old? Sally's only meant to be sixteen in the first book. :?

Ah well, the BBC does make a lot of quality dramas, let's hope this adaptation is one of them.

Gods I hope she doesn't speak in her retarded London 'accent.'

She's in Doctor Who, and I rather like her.

I can imagine her being Sally Lockhart in a weird kind of way, but she's not at all what I imagined.

I don't like Billie Piper. I still recall her singing 'WHY YOU GOTTA SING THAT SONG SO LOUD? COS I WANT TO! COS I WANT TO!'

*shakes head in despair*

I guess, having never seen this Dr Who series, I can still see the Sally Lockhart series objectively...
