Adam Godley's Articulation
Posted on by

Adam Godley played the titular role in BBC Radio 4's Saturday Play this week – Dr Glas, by Hjalmar Soderberg. Godley is to play Lyra's daemon, Pantalaimon, in The Golden Compass film, so it's a good chance to sample his voice. Jim Carter, who is playing Lord Faa, is also in the play. You can listen again on the BBC site for the next six days (skip a couple of minutes in).

This has nothing to do with the clip but I found it exciting- there was an ad for The History Boys in the NYTimes this weekend and, of course, Dominic Cooper (Will, plays, first run) was pictured! They didn't have his name listed but still…

  5. HDM Head 24-7 says:

great, maybe just a twe bit higher pitched but i bet he'll be great

  6. green ink says:

Adam Godley isn't the only Golden Compass actor in it. Jim Carter who is playing Lord Faa can also be heard in the play.
    Godley sounds good though.

  7. MCH says:

Alewyn: Hi! Yeah, I love Dominic Cooper too, and I saw him in the HDM plays in London. Just for the record – Russel Tovey (who I think played Roger in the 1st run of the HDM plays) is also in The History Boys, as is Samuel Barnett (who was Pan in the 1st run of the plays).
By the way – anyone who reads this – go to see The History Boys – it's AMAZING!!!

  8. Annabel says:

Yay! He's pretty good 🙂 . But talking about voices, I saw the trailer for (the new) casino royale yesterday, and OMG Daniel Craig has a completely PERFECT, absolutely SPOT ON Asriel voice! This film's gonna be good xD

  9. Alewyn says:

Yeah, Daniel Craig gives this look in the posters for 007, he looks great- scary, authoritative, but at the same time with a bit of a smile

  10. Willl says:

Thanks green ink, I hadn't noticed that. Added it to the news.
