Pullman to speak at Bangor

Philip Pullman will deliver a public lecture at Bangor University (where he is an Honourary Fellow) this Friday. He will be speaking on Strangeness & Charm, the fundamental particles of narrative, and explore the art and science of writing. Dr David Roberts, Registrar of the University, said: “We are delighted to welcome back Philip Pullman to the University. He is a brilliant writer, but also an inspiring lecturer who is passionate about education. This is a unique opportunity to hear a leading author explain his work.” Read more.

    I love how he always gets out and does things like this, it shows that he actually cares about his fans and fellow writers.

    Well, to be fair, it's not for his fans 😛 Far more a favour to the university.

    In answer to your question, a lot of the adult actors are fairly well known in the UK.

    Bangor's my university, I didn't manage to actually go to the lecture because I didn't know it was on until after it had started, but I did get a book signed by him and shook his hand 😀
