The Butterfly Tattoo Film
Posted on by Ian

Rik Visser, of Dynamic Entertainment Ltd (and a member of our forums) has today announced that his company have optioned the rights to make a film adaptation of the Philip Pullman novel The Butterfly Tattoo. Since March last year, this site had been supporting Rik in his successful bid to convince Pullman of his plans. Included in these are the notion of “an 'open source' film in which the entire Philip Pullman [fan] community can play a part.” Rik adds, “Our crew will consist of up and coming talent and we even have an award winning director tentatively attached. ” More information is to be posted on a project website shortly.

You can read more and discuss this news on the forums and put yourself forward for a role in the film.

For anyone else who was confused (as I was!) "The Butterfly Tattoo" was originally called "The White Mercedes".

Ian is right (he usually is). The production company is actually Dutch (as are all three producers). Even if you don't live in the UK, you can still be part of the project. Keep an eye on these forums and our website. Hope to see your screenwriting submission soon!
