Chris Weitz to draft Subtle Knife (see update)Posted by on August 13, 2007 at 12:17 amAn article at the Iranian website Payvand says that the Iranian-born screenwriter, Hossein Amini, will no longer be penning the script for the adaptation of The Subtle Knife. Amini was commissioned to write a draft script back in January, but Payvand reports that “apparently Amini set off working on another movie, Killshot, produced by Quentine Tarantino and the task was given to another talented screenwriter: Chris Weitz.” We’ll see if we can confirm this.Update: According to New Line’s production executive, Hossein Amini is still the only writer for The Subtle Knife after all.

hope thats true, cause i want weitz as writer of the other movies. i once read a interview with him saying that he only direct movies with his screenplays; so, i think this is it. hope that they´ll shoot both movies at the same time, with the sucess of the golden in boxoffices. Not sure what’s going on. If this is true I find the catalogue of errors on the part of New Line a little worrying… Can’t they appoint anybody? i hope the auditions are soon. but am a bit worried… am only thirteen n am 5:10 or somfin… n i look older… but not 2 much.. DAM PIMPLES… DAM PUBERTY!! the story is about BEFORE puberty… but my biological clock decided n hit it ear =[=[!! aaannnnyyywwaaayyys… thats not gona stop me from trying to live my dream even tho ive got a wee bit of an irish acent… but i can do english.. kinda lol! If this is true I very happy to see Chris Weitz adapting the second and the third books, since he is the screenwriter of the golden compass. And if you see, films that have the director writing the script himself are films that tend to succeed. But it’s just a thougt.
