I’m really glad that they’re not mentioning religion too much in the previews (and I hope it doesn’t play a central role in this movie). The beauty of the series is the way the plot is sooo good and the message is subtle (at least until The Amber Spyglass). I would love for tons of good little Christian robots to go see this movie, get hooked on the story, read the books, and actually start to question their faith (or at the very least, the tyranny of organized religion). I think this film, if well received, could enlighten many Americans, and thus have a beneficial impact on American culture. It’s a far-fetched hope, but hey, I have “faith” in the HDM series.

Thanks for this, its lookingpromising. I notice though that in all the mentions of the Magisterium, religeon was not actually mentioned. it was implied ‘Fra’ (religeous title) and ‘Heresy’ for example but not mentioned.

So how comes roger was not at the cannes as he plays a main character role,he must be within the top 6 lead roles. I agree with satchel they are hiding his identity. If you look at IMDB Movie info he is listed at the bottom with no picture. But he has been in other films so he must be good or they would`nt have picked him!!

This sounds good! Better then the trailer for sure. I still don’t like the more modern city though… the zeppelin isn’t even a balloon as far as i can tell!

Godley is an actor though… maybe he was shooting for a high voice GOD! I hope so, I feel the most upset over this. I wish they decided on Paul Bettany replacing Godley (even though I like Godley better as Pan in my head.)
