Golden Compass Blu Ray Reviewed

Website moviemansguide.com have reviewed the 2 disc blu ray version of The Golden Compass, due for release in just a few days time. They seem on the whole to be mightily impressed, in particular by the quality of the extra features. You can read their thoughts in full right here.

    Hold the date of the universe? Maybe they will go back and correct that.

    They certainly don’t hold out much hope of the sequels being made, and it would seem that missing scenes, particularly the ending, have not made it to this release. Will the theatrical trailer included on the extras still show the missing ending? New Line really did get themselves into a mess over this, to their great cost.

    The review lost its credibility the moment they gave the film 4.5 stars. I’d love to see this in HD but would rather wait until a full version of the film is transferred to disc.

    In the meantime, I may give this a rent.

    It sounds interesting to watch. On the bright side, I find it interesting they still believe there’s some chance the sequels will be made (or maybe not).
