The cards look great but once again its all about making loads of money and they have lost sightt of the books and the stories. So has Roger been killed off before the film has started? This is Lrya`s best friend, what do you fans really think about this, please tell me as I love the books?

wow… all i can say is that i hope this draws more readership. i mean, come on, the books aren’t that popular in the states and i’m not sure even harry potter had this much merchandise before the first film, though they’ve certainly caught up… still, the more promo, the better… hopefully it wont get too out of hand though.

Some of the pictures are kind of pretty, but I wouldn’t really buy them myself. Although I do like the packaging…. rawr, bear!

What concerns me is the fact that they appear to have the wrong spelling for alethiometer on the card…. ‘aleithiometer’ indeed. Hopefully that doesn’t make it to printing, or I can forsee some rather embarrassed card manufacturers.

I agree with Jamie. Any movie that has a budget as big as this will have trading cards. It doesn’t matter.

Oh come on! They’ve had trading card games for Harry Potter, Spiderman, and even Lord of the Rings. All films of this type get the trading cards treatment – this isn’t unusual. And to be fair, I like them and I’ll probably be buying a pack! It’s great to pass the time in a car or plane journey so why not!! Lighten up, guys, merchandise like this won’t take anything away from the book OR the film.
