What in the first three HP movies would -make- them be PG-13? Nothing.

Now, if they’ve done TGC right, let’s see… One of the men who tries to kidnap Lyra is shot with an arrow in the throat and lies in a pool of his own blood; Lord Asriel kills the husband of his mistress, though it’s off-screen; the GOB is ripping children from their -souls-; the witches/gyptians fight a violent battle against the Tartar guards; Iorek slashes off Iofur’s jaw, then eats his still-beating heart…
And those are just the ones I can remember.

PG-13, eh? Deserves PG. Harry Potter’s PG for the first three movies, for god sakes!

seriously. most of these spots would make me not want to see the films if i hadn’t read the books. These people have no idea how to market this movie. It’s not the freaking compass that makes the story enticing, it’s the quest to find out what asriel is up to.

I’m hoping enough people go to see this movie so the other two can get made…please, Authority, pretty please…ah wait, never mind.

[...] The TV spots for The Golden Compass make me angry: "Legend tells that the last Golden Compass – whoever can read it has the power to rule the universe… The quest for the compass begins". I’m… urgh. The book (which is actually called Northern Lights) is one of my absolute favourite books of all time, and it makes me angry to see it mutilated so. I hope that this trailer is only aimed at incredibly stupid obese Americans, able only deal with plots shallower than the pools of hideous drool collecting underneath their slack, lifeless mouths. Whoever holds the last Golden Compass willl rule the universe — RIGHT, I mean, even the One Ring coulnd’t rule the Universe, just Middleearth, so wtf did they smoke ?

Well that Ã¢â‚¬Å“IÃ¢â‚¬â„¢m glad I lived long enough to see you.Ã¢â‚¬Â one was really good and even manged to be that without the rul ethe universe crap. So let’s see how the movie look in the end …
