Inside His Dark Materials: The World Of Philip Pullman, is set to air this coming Sunday, 24 August on Australia’s public broadcaster ABC at 3pm. “Through an exclusive interview with acclaimed author Philip Pullman, this program documents Pullman’s life and works, and examines the subject matter of his books.” Click here to find out more or enter the forum to discuss it. I’ll be watching and recording probably (oops – I didn’t say that) but I’m not expecting too much, having read the review in “The Age” TV Guide: …a plodding account of Pullman’s life, an amateurish attempt to to identify his influences…” etc. The reviewer, Gordon Farrer, writes “as a fan.” So, we’ll see. Let’s hope he had his cynical reviewer’s hat on.
Anybody who’s already seen it care to comment? (It was shown on the other ABC network a week ago and I presume in the UK already)
