Movie-Edition Book CoversPosted by on August 16, 2007 at 11:27 pmThe ever info-full Chris sends over these new UK book covers for the three His Dark Materials novels, designed to tie in with the movie of The Golden Compass out this winter. They all feature the Lyra and Iorek poster released a while ago; with each cover tinted a different colour. You can view the covers in our coverart gallery, or click the thumbnails below.

Agree with all comments with one fundamental addition. The UK title of the book is Northern Lights and NOT Golden Compass. Therefore the title appearing in the largest type with the most prominence should be Northern Lights. By all means put a little strap line saying ‘Filmed as the Golden Compass’ but it should NOT be the dominating part of the cover. This is laziness to the nth degree. September 2, 2007 5:29 pm | link
