Bung

The bung is an imaginary component of the Gyptian narrow boat that Lyra believes acts as a stopper in the bottom of the boat. She looks for it when she and her friends hijack the Costa boat in order to unplug it and fill the boat with water to sink it. Of course, she doesn't find it and abandons the boat.
