Lyra's World

Lyra's World is the commonly used term for the world Lyra Silvertongue comes from. It is the first world that we encounter, where the entire first book takes place, where we are introduced to the majority of the characters, including Lyra herself. It is a strange world, like ours in many ways, but unlike ours in many others. One of the key differences being the fact that every human being from Lyra's world has a dæmon; whilst the world also has armoured bears and witches. Lyra's world is one of the most interesting and creative aspects of His Dark Materials.
