Roger Parslow

Roger Parslow is a kitchen boy at Jordan College, he was born into a family of masons traditionally hired by the college to maintain the stonework around the school. Roger is the best friend of Lyra Belaqua, together they explored the school, got into trouble, and even got drunk once in the crypt. Roger often led raiding parties and headed other escapades around Oxford with Lyra. During the Oxford Horse Fair, Roger was kidnapped by the Gobblers and Lyra became determined to travel to the north to rescue him. Roger met his death in Svalbard when his dæmon was torn from him by Lord Asriel to open the window into Cittàgazze.
