Scholars

Scholars are academians. They are prominent at the University of Oxford and a large part of Lyra's early life at Jordan College, some giving her odd lessons here and there.

They are almost a surrogate family to her, "though if she knew what a family was, she would be more inclined to think about the servents and kitchen staff that way."
