The Amber Spyglass (book)

Note: This article refers to the third book in the trilogy His Dark Materials. It is also the name of Mary Malone's spyglass.

The Amber Spyglass is the final book in the His Dark Materials trilogy. The title refers to an invention made by Dr. Mary Malone of the Dark Matter Research Unit. The Amber Spyglass enables the viewer to see the movements of Dust with the naked eye. The filmy lens made of Oil and Lacquer came from the sap of the seedpods located in the World of the Mulefa. Mary Malone uses this tool to find out that Dust is slowly filtering out of the worlds and into The Abyss created by the DNA bomb in the Magisterium's attempt to kill Lyra Belacqua.
